Khatu Shyam Ji temple is located at a distance of 65 kms from Sikar in a tiny village Khatoo. This beautiful temple is made up of Makwana marble and is very significant for many Hindus. The main attraction of this temple is that the fair is held in the month of February and March. It occurs during the Phalgun Dashmi and lasts for a period of three days. Lakhs of devotees flocked here annually to seek the blessings of Shyam baba. The temple is dedicated to Barbareek, the grandson of Bhima. He is worshipped as Khatu Shyam Ji or Shyam baba in Rajasthan. Khatu Shyam Ji is considered as God of Kaliyuga. He is also known as Khatu Naresh, Sheesh ke Dani, Teen Baan Dhari and Baba Shyam. During Mahabharata Shri Krishna granted a boon to Barbareeka for his sacrifices. According to this boon Barbareeka is known by Krishan’s own name Shyamji in Kaliyuga.
